How do you craft the Terra Blade sub-tree?
The Terra Blade is the recipe’s hard side — a mid-Hardmode sword assembled from two upgraded legends:
- Night’s Edge = Muramasa (Dungeon Gold Chests) + Volcano (20 Hellstone Bars) + Light’s Bane or Blood Butcherer (10 Demonite/Crimtane Bars) + Blade of Grass (12 Stingers + 15 Jungle Spores + 3 Vines) — forged at a Demon or Crimson Altar.
- True Night’s Edge = Night’s Edge + Soul of Sight ×20 (The Twins) + Soul of Might ×20 (The Destroyer) + Soul of Fright ×20 (Skeletron Prime).
- True Excalibur = Excalibur (12 Hallowed Bars from the mechanical bosses) + 24 Chlorophyte Bars.
- Terra Blade = True Night’s Edge + True Excalibur at a Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil.
Heads-up for returning players: the Broken Hero Sword is no longer part of this tree — 1.4.1 moved True Excalibur to Chlorophyte Bars and the souls recipe replaced the eclipse grind, so don’t waste time farming Mothron. Note the Tin Shortsword does not substitute for the Copper Shortsword, no matter how identical it looks.
What changed for the Zenith in 1.4.5?
Two things. First, 1.4.5.0 added a Shimmer transmutation: drop the Zenith into Shimmer and it becomes the True Copper Shortsword — the same weapon reskinned as the ultimate starter sword. Second, 1.4.5.7 re-drew several of its sword sprites to match the new longer blade art (Starfury, Bee Keeper, Light’s Bane, Volcano, Blade of Grass, Excalibur, True Excalibur, Blood Butcherer, Seedler).
One quirk worth knowing: the projectile animation also includes swords that aren’t in the recipe — Light’s Bane and Blood Butcherer both appear regardless of which you crafted, and the Terragrim flies too, despite not being an ingredient.
What’s the fastest way to farm one?
The two Moon Lord swords are the bottleneck: Meowmere and Star Wrath each drop at roughly 1/9 odds from the weapon pool, so budget multiple Celestial Sigil fights. Everything else is deterministic — the Horseman’s Blade is a Pumpkin Moon grind, the Influx Waver a Martian one, and Bee Keeper is a Queen Bee re-fight.
