FAQ

How do you enter a secret seed in Terraria?
In 1.4.5+, click the seed icon next to World Seed on the creation screen to open the Seed Menu and toggle any combination of special seeds — or type the code into the World Seed field directly, where a chime confirms it. Only one text entry works at a time in the field; the menu is how you stack multiples.
What is the hardest seed in Terraria?
get fixed boi — the Zenith seed — combines every special seed's rules at once: upside-down world start, both evils, extra traps, stronger bosses including the exclusive Mechdusa fight, and Legendary difficulty when set on Master. Stacking all special seeds except Skyblock produces the colloquial 'True Zenith' world, the hardest the game gets.
What does the Drunk World seed do?
Seed 5162020 generates both Corruption and Crimson in one world, shuffles structure placement, moves the Dungeon and Jungle to odd spots, starts you with the Party Girl instead of the Guide, and shows a smiley-faced moon during generation. It's the seed that lets a single world contain both evils without artificial biomes.
Does 'for the worthy' make Terraria harder?
Yes — For the Worthy raises enemy stats, scales boss sizes up, adds hard-mode behaviors to pre-Hardmode bosses, floods the world with explosives and floating islands, and on Master difficulty unlocks Legendary mode — the hardest official setting, complete with its own Mechdusa reward.
Can special seeds be combined?
Yes — the 1.4.5 Seed Menu lets any number of special seeds be active at once, and specific pairings get extra unique effects. The famous combos: Remix + For the Worthy produces the 'true' underworld start, and everything stacked minus Skyblock is the True Zenith challenge.

What are special world seeds?

Special world seeds (formerly “secret seeds”) are typed world-creation codes that change the rules of the generated world — not just its layout. They flip spawn mechanics, alter enemy stats, move structures, reskin the moon, and more. As of 1.4.5 there are nine official special seeds, each triggered by its code or toggled in the Seed Menu (the seed icon at world creation).

Enter a code in the World Seed field — text is normalized (lowercased, non-alphanumeric stripped), so Not the Bees! works. A chat chime confirms activation. The Seed Menu is the better route when you want several at once.

The ones people actually play

  • for the worthy is the difficulty seed — the default answer to “I want a harder world” without going to mods. Everything from enemy contact damage to dungeon traps scales up, and the Demolitionist replaces the Guide at spawn; on Master it becomes Legendary mode, the hardest official difficulty.
  • 5162020 (Drunk) is the discovery seed — both world evils in one world lets a single save farm Corruption and Crimson drops, which matters for evil-biome content and the Dryad’s purity report.
  • get fixed boi is the meme seed that’s actually a final exam — every special-seed rule stacked, upside-down start, the exclusive Mechdusa fight (the three mechanical bosses fused), and the most hostile worldgen Re-Logic ships.
  • skyblock is the newest addition — a curated one-island world with floating resource islands; our dedicated Skyblock seed article has the full walkthrough, and best seeds covers the general-purpose loot world list.

Combining seeds

The Seed Menu added in 1.4.5 lets you toggle multiple special seeds into one world — official combination seeds. Some pairings have their own rules (Remix + For the Worthy is the legendary “spawn in the Underworld on Legendary” run), and the community name for all special seeds except Skyblock combined is True Zenith — the hardest world the game can generate.

Seeds are world-generation modifiers, not save-file flags — a special-seed world stays special permanently, and items brought out of it work in normal worlds. If you’re planning a hardcore run, note that difficulty settings compound with seed rules — Legendary + Hardcore is the full punishment stack.
