Terraria 1.4.5 'Bigger & Boulder': Everything in the Update

What is Terraria 1.4.5?

“Bigger & Boulder” — released January 27, 2026 on all platforms at once, the first update since 1.4.4 in 2022 and the biggest content drop since Journey’s End. The update’s marquee items:

• Two crossovers: Palworld (items and pals-flavored content) and Dead Cells (weapons and outfits that landed on both games the same week).
• The Skyblock seed — a full void-island survival mode that reworks progression around slime drops; see the Skyblock seed guide.
• World creation overhaul — a rebuilt creation menu with a dedicated seed panel, plus the new ability to combine seeds and stack secret modifiers (see below).
• More boulders — five new boulder types, on-theme with the update name.
• Four transformation mounts, new whips and a summoner prefix rework, kites, new critters, and 15 new furniture sets.
• Secret world seeds — 37 discoverable modifiers (per wiki.gg’s unlock list; community tools count 35 — the gap is documented on our best seeds page) that toggle stacking rule changes like Planetoids and Night of the Living Dead.

What did the 1.4.5.x hotfixes add?

The update kept shipping after launch — PC is now on 1.4.5.8:

• 1.4.5.7 (late August 2026) — the big one; media coverage called it a “massive item dump” for the volume of new items slipped into a hotfix, alongside balance and fixes. The Zenith’s sword sprites were retouched here, and Shimmer transmutations added in 1.4.5.0 — including Zenith → True Copper Shortsword — settled into their final form.
• 1.4.5.8 — the current PC build; follow-up fixes to the 1.4.5.7 wave, with Re-Logic’s September State of the Game noting remaining items still being cleaned up.
• Console and mobile are one step behind — the cross-play prerequisite is getting every platform to 1.4.5.7+ parity, which Re-Logic says is coming “very soon.”

What did 1.4.5 change for existing content?

Beyond the headline features, 1.4.5 reworked everyday systems: world creation is now seed-menu-driven (discover a modifier once by typing it, then toggle it per world); several boss encounters got Skyblock-aware conditional drops (the Eye of Cthulhu drops an altar if the world has none, Skeletron a Hellforge, Plantera a full Temple kit); and item-side additions sprinkled new gear across every tier — the Zenith gained its True Copper Shortsword shimmer path and new swing visuals.

Is 1.4.5 the last Terraria update?

No. Re-Logic has already announced 1.4.6 “Pulling It All Together” — Phase One is cross-play — and says a Phase Two follows after; possibly with more small updates in between. The cross-play tracker page is where we log every State of the Game development until launch.
